Once again, from May 29 to June 7, 2026, La Subhasta Espai Gastronòmic celebrates the fifteenth edition of the Fideus Rossetajs Days of Ametlla de Mar, an emblematic dish of traditional seafood gastronomy. And following local tradition, year after year the days connect with the historical essence of the town and its fishermen.

A dish with its own identity

Fideus rossejats are not just any dish. Since time immemorial, their origin can be found in the fishermen of the Catalan coast, who prepared simple and tasty recipes with the ingredients they found on hand: rock fish, seafood broth and noodles.

As for the name, “rossejats” comes from the process of browning the noodles in oil before cooking them with the broth. This step gives it the characteristic “toasted” tone that makes it browned, and hence the name of this emblematic dish that was started by fishermen in Ametlla de Mar. Once the noodles are golden brown, they are added to the rock fish broth, which was also previously made with other catches of the day’s fishing, and we would have this meal that, apart from being tasty, is nutritious and with fresh ingredients from the sea.

This year, at La Subhasta we have prepared two versions of fideus rossejats.

  • Seafood salad with tomatoes, octopus, cod and canned tuna
  • Fried sea bass in marinade and ponzu sauce
  • Sea noodles with onion and rancid wine

Main course (to choose):

  • Fideus rossejats, peeled fish and negat allioli
  • Fideus rossejats with Delta eel allipebre (supplement of €3 p.p.)

Desserts (to choose):

  • Lemon sorbet with cava mar
  • Brioche torrija and vanilla ice cream

Drink included:

Wine D.O. Terra Alta wines and water
