La Subhasta and Mala Vida Magazine

March 19, 2026
Sometimes, certain connections appear without looking for them. And that is exactly what happened with Mala Vida magazine.
From the very first moment there was that good energy and feeling, and above all a similar way of understanding gastronomy, the territory and the culture behind each project.
That is why we are especially thrilled to be able to share this collaboration with them.
Mala Vida is an editorial project with its own vision
Mala Vida magazine is born from restless, entrepreneurial and creative minds who, with their unstoppable energy and curiosity, decide to create a media outlet where gastronomy, leisure and culture projects from the province of Tarragona are told in a more vivid, freer and more inspiring way.
Because life deserves to be given some rock and roll.
That is why, from Mala Vida, and also according to its readers, the magazine is not a guide or a collection of recommendations with endless lists. Its differentiating point is based on making a careful analysis in search of places with essence, powerful stories and original proposals.
Projects that deserve to be told with depth and sensitivity, and that the reader is willing to experience.

La Brúixola, the special part of the magazine
For the Mala Vida team, cooking is also a form of creation. They are clear that dishes tell stories, awaken memories and provoke emotions, and on that we agree with them: there are creations that are authentic works of art.
They combine visual balance, textures, aromas and sensations that can turn a spoonful into a true sensory journey.
That is why the La Brúixola Gastronòmica section is a must within the magazine. It is where each restaurant can show its specific work: techniques, new projects, its own personality and all of it through its personal lens.
La Subhasta and Mala Vida Magazine
A curiosity worth mentioning that reinforces the connection between Mala Vida magazine and La Subhasta restaurant is the anecdote that brings everything to life.
It all starts with the story of two friends and their promise to see each other twice a year: in summer and at New Year's.
One of those meetings takes them to l'Ametlla de Mar for a few days and, wandering without any particular direction, they come across La Subhasta, a restaurant that at that moment gave off good vibes.
They went in without expectations and came back the next day, because it had sparked enough curiosity and appetite in them.
This experience clicked hard enough to discover that it was exactly what the La Brúixola section within Mala Vida magazine was meant to be.
Discover Mala Vida Magazine
There will always be a thousand options to explore restaurants and possible places to have a good time, but Mala Vida magazine is different.
It seeks to provoke sensations, for each restaurant to present itself in the best conditions, from the staging to the writing, in order to truly win over the reader.
They seek for each piece in the magazine to be remembered, for the reader to discover the project and, in the end, to have the feeling of having experienced something.
We do not really believe in coincidences. We believe rather that destiny puts the right people on our path when the time is right.
That is why we believe that the connection with Mala Vida magazine is no coincidence.
From La Subhasta we can only wish them a long life, because projects like this, with soul, energy and the desire to do things differently, are always worth pushing forward.
